PORTHYFELIN COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIP SECURES OVER £881,000 FOR COMMUNITY PROJECTS.
The Porthyfelin Partnership is pleased to report that during the financial year 2010-2011 it has helped local community groups and residents to benefit from a number of projects that combined have brought over £881,000 into the area.
These projects have included IT Training Provision, refurbishment of the Sea Cadets Unit on Newry Beach, money to purchase Kiddyland Nursery saving it from closure, and Youth Activities during School Holidays.
The projects have been developed by local community groups and dedicated volunteers with guidance and support from the staff at the Partnership and help to reduce the social and economic deprivation in the ward as identified under the Welsh Assembly Government’s Communities First Programme. The Partnership is extremely pleased with this significant achievement and looks forward to continuing to work on these and many other projects in the future.
